my lovely colleagues crowded around my desk and gave me one of the best presents i've ever received. XD
I've been warned that something's coming my way altho i have no clue what it was and today was the day to reveal the mysterious package they've gotten for me.
wrapped inside a isetan paper bag was this queer looking pink box.
in fact, when i took it out i was still pretty clueless what it was.
i thought perhaps it was some figurine.
there was this picture on the box so i was 50% sure it's some sort of figurine UNTIL i turned it to the other side and found the word 'fragrance' lol.
so it's a perfume!
and it's the strangest looking thing ever!
what i was later informed, was that this is a line of perfume launched by Gwen Stefani with her Harajuku back up dancers and my figurine was one of the back up dancers with hair like grapes and i thought it looked like 'da chang jing' (jewel in the palace). lolx
but the cuteness of it all grows on me and the more i look at it the more i like it.
the perfume smells like baby powder. i like. haha better than flower scent.
here's a peek at how the whole set would look. =D

just a random name i thought up for this necklace i made.
spend quite sometime thinking what do design with the beads i bought.
i started off buying the blue semi-precious beads first.
i must admit that the initial design i had in mind was rather simple and boring.
so i decided to stash my beads first till i have better design in mind.
inspiration suddenly struck me last weekend and i had this picture in my mind.
once i reached gu's house i asked for a pen and paper and started scribbling the design out.
the next thing i know, i was in chinatown buying more materials for my idea lol.
but i must say i'm not very satisfied with my end result but i liked the look alot.
will invest in better parts next time when i have more money. ^ ^;
buying the konata+kagami nendriod made me pretty broke at the moment.

fat cat's fur has become rather messy lately.
I even noticed how it has lost quite a significant amount of fur and weight.

hope it can recover somehow but i doubt so.

i've spent a good few hours assembling my konata.
too damn cute but the nendriod falls into pieces very easily. *cry* T_T
i had a hard time making it stand but no worries. with patience.... i can do it!
even had an 'ideal' black setting for it muahahaha
the =3 faces are a bit..pale. the colouring a bit salah but nvm la. as long as the >_< face is ok ahahahahaha

the place was damn crowded la.
but i saw some really cute stuff going on and the nendos in the display shelves!!!!
crazy amt of ppl armed with SLRs taking photos lol.
this lil figurines in the bottles actually moves!!! there's some sort of mechanism going on in the cap and so it'll jerk the strings that's attached to the limbs of the figurine inside and it moves!! very cute and very tempted to randomly get it but i think i rather save the $. ^ ^;
this one got me pretty wild. i can make my own MINI FOOD! omg. the very thing that can drive me insane. any handicraft-DIY thingy drives me wild actually. imagine making mini takopachi or mini donuts and puddings myself. actually... now that i think about it... i kinda regret not buying one to try. but then again.. it's expensive....
ah this stupid mame commercial LOL i actually helped MH translate the japanese script cos they wanted to air it in TW!!! omg la damn stupid lol can't imagine they brought this here. it's some peapod keychain thingy where you can compulsively press on it to have a mini pea pop its head out from the peapod.
these dolls are all quite fascinating...to look at...from the shelves that is.
i have this innate phobia for dolls with human faces (ever since Chucky, DAMN U!) and so yea. i don't keep dolls with human faces @ home. nendroids doesn't count tho. XD

i wanted to get just konata actually but they told me it's a set. had to go aaaaaaaall the way to the basement to draw cash cos i didn't have enough with me. i asked the shopkeeper at least 3 times if she'll remember my face when i return and she MUST KEEP IT FOR ME!! and swear deep in my heart that i'll burn her booth if she doesn't. she say i have to get back within the hour. i practically chiong-ed to the nearest ATM.

Had a splendid time preparing for my BBQ (rather hectic but it was all worth it) and I'm just glad it turned out fine and the crowd that came was great too. The food was great and many helped prepared some of the stuff and luckily I was sane enough to cut down on the amount of meat we bought this year that we hardly had any leftover (unlike last year!!) ^ ^;
Wilson has been a great help with the buying of groceries and stuff and being the driver of the day on Saturday. He even bought me two cakes! The chalet was sponsored by my lovely east coast kakis and thank god cos it started raining in the afternoon. If i was left to make the decision myself I would've booked just a BBQ pit. O_O
I enjoy preparing food and enjoy feeding people and to see all happy fed faces was my greatest return. a colleague asked me why bother with all the preparation when it's my birthday and i should've left it to others. it's what i like to do i guess. as long as i enjoy doing what i do, that's what counts right? even if some people don't understand that, so long as somebody out there does, it's good enough for me.
it was a little nerve wrecking at first when no one seemed to reply about whether they'll be coming beforehand to help and i did started out with all the food preparation alone and towards the end, help started coming in and although i've pretty much finished up most of the food preparation, the help that came in later did magic afterall haha.
i probably had a bit too much alcohol? all thanks to my lovely colleagues with their crazy rule about me not being the winner = i have to drink. damn. and CL topping up my cup constantly with great amt of liqour.

i was actually very touched on sunday cos gu have been the sweetest thing. i was still a little groggy from the night before and wasn't fully sober so gu had to guide me around but the thing was, he had very sleep as well. probably just an hour or two but he still brought me to AFA cos he knew i wanted to go and even remembered to buy me my fav Mr. Brown coffee when we were at the petrol station. that caught me my surprise but oh well heh! he wasn't feeling too well cos of the lack of sleep but he didn't complain either. just patiently followed me around while we squeezed through the crowd in AFA. altho it was the second day of the event already, it's still damn crowded. to reward my dear, i treated him to MOF haha!

geez. u hv NO CLUE how much this is driving me nuts man!
i've been attempting to fold this kawasaki rose for ages and i've not managed to go past step 19 damnit!
i got the rose pattern from producer Sing.
he created a couple of paper roses for a shoot we had and i was so fascinated by it cos it looked so nice. but there's always a limit as to how much you can understand through reading a pattern than if you were to see for yourself how it's folded at certain point. illustrations alone can be sometimes rather limited.
after struggling for hours...IN VAIN...
sing tried a demonstration for me.
and he did it under ...like 5 - 10 minutes!?
*pulls hair*
arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh MUST FOLD ROSE SUCCESSFULLY!!!!
i only managed to finish a complete rose towards the end of the day.
went home and tried to make another one again.
was holding to the coloured paper from home to out of home when i went to eat dinner until i got scolded by dad but i ignored him and tried to fold / figure out the pattern while eating. abit gone crazy already.

Last Sat, our gang of 4 (GU, HL, CL & Myself) went to a specs shop in Parkway market area to make a pair of glasses for ourselves (each a pair!) and in addition to the pair of spectacles I made, I bought a pair of sunglasses!! love it!!!
Today i went to see babu cos I'M SICK! DAMN! then on the way i collected my glasses. super not used to it at first and felt damn dizzy but now ok liao.
Late night conversation between me & James.
Must be damn bored la we.
Here I 'learnt' what 'true friends stabs you in the front' means.
They laugh in your face. aha!

WAH LAU THE MOUTH WASH TASTE LIKE SHIT. so yea. i'm damn drugged now. gu already concuss on the couch (ya he sick too. babu say share medicine). i'm still attempting to finish this blog entry.
Boss bought some cupcakes for us. forgot the shop name again. it tastes quite nice actually. boss fished out three for us to choose. elmo, grouch and cookie monster. JH and I deliberately avoided cookie monster cos got OREO cookie stuck to its mouth. Boss ask why we siam cookie monster. our reply is simple, "oreo has been recalled as one of the food item that could possibly have tainted milk content." hohoho

A loooooong day spent at the set of our production shoot yesterday and it lasted till wee hours!
goodness gracious. and i still have to come in for work in the morning!
at this stage i'm not sure how much pictures i can share lol.
the project is still WIP...SO.. i shall just post random photos first hehe
we had our shoot in Raycine Production's studio yesterday afternoon and it's in BISHAN!

actually, although it's a rather nerve-wrecking experience cos i kept worrying about time and my worries are accompanied with thoughts about cost.. wah lau. hahaha but all in all, it was good fun. the talents so happened to be my juniors and they are a good crowd so i enjoyed their presence alot. took quite a lot of group pictures but will upload only on a later note.

just realised i actually forgot to blog about this chapter of my life hah!
most prob one of the craziest thing i've ever done (and never will again!) before i officially hit my quarter-life crisis.
60KM CYCLING TRIP IN DESARU, MALAYSIA!
why did i even agree.
i must be out of my mind.

we were supposed to meet real early in changi village to get our bikes and get on the bum boat to make our way to malaysia.
we were a little late cos the bus took super long (miscalculation) but nevermind. we weren't only the only latecomers haha but most of them have arrived. our cycling group is made up of seventeen people who are most strangers to one another except for a friend or two haha. i personally only knew two of the lot who went. one of which was the organiser. heh
i felt pretty sick towards the later part of the bum boat ride actually.
the sea wasn't exactly what you would describe as 'calm' so ... yea. felt sea sick.
it never quite did dawn onto me to understand just how damn far 60km is or how tough the ride would be. we hardly had breaks (once every say.....10 or more km?)
i remembered taking at least two breaks before completing 20km... and reaching some kampong for lunch. wah lau really very ulu la the area. all the while we ride and ride until half dead only see what seemed to be deserted houses but were in fact very much inhabited. there's actually people living inside and i'm wonderin how on earth they travel out to get their things. chicken and roosters seen in almost every home.
actually... i had too little fluid when we started so i was really starting to dehydrate. in fact. i've stupidly gotten a heat stroke (and didn't realise only till late at night when my head was threatening to burst apart).
we kept to the left of the road cos of the traffic and well... the roads ain't exactly "safe" if u know what i mean. reckless drivers everywhere. it's like a rat race. i'm just trying my best to keep up and not end up last in line.
my brain pretty much wanted to shut dwn and my stomach was screeching for food and finally.. a more 'urban' area.
i spent only RM10! muahaha (Click pic to enlarge)
there's alot of rambutan there somehow. is it in season right now? but their rambutan is yellow!
anyway, bought quite a few bottles of 100plus and mineral water and... bubblegums!!! hee
and we hit the roads again... *cries*

i was half dead when we reached the expressway. i'm not joking.
there was alot of super nice sceneries as we rode along but well, the group didn't stop so i can't either. was so bloody tempted to just freakin stop and take photos. there's so many slopes!!!! like crazy!!! it got so tough there were a few points where i had to simply get off my bike and just walk up the slope. my legs were aching like mad.
i saw prancing cows (yes prancing!) and COWS! wah lau! first time really see a cow can! then monkeys too! stupid monkey was screeching at us trying act fierce. then we had to ride slowly at one point cos monkeys crossing the road. hurhur.
after what seemed like a never-ending trip.....

everyone just threw their bags aside and stoned for a really long time.
i just sat on the floor straight.
my thighs now super fit can!
after we've gotten our room keys, gu and i just chiong straight to the room to bathe.
stink big time man.
we just continued stoning in the room watching tv but cos i was by then suffering big time from my heatstroke and muscle aches (is the super crazy damn pain kind) that wilson had to put countless coats of counterpain on my thighs while i whine like crazy and sounded damn pathetic. i almost cried from all the pain i felt man.
but.. i can still crawl out for dinner. must...not..miss..dinner..
but after dinner i went back to the room and sleep. hur.
Day 2
day 2 i felt better. breakfast was buffet style.
BUT.....they decided to head out for lunch and guess what!! we have to ride again!! NOOOOOOOOOOOO....!!!!!!
*sob*
my thigh just ached ALL OVER AGAIN DAMNIT!
i cant remember whether we went to the beach before or after lunch. most prob after? i'm just guessing. can't remember. anyway, they had a game of beach volleyball before deciding to head to the sea to play. i wanted to stay dry so i did something girly. pick seashells.

our trip back is a much more comfortable one. we took a bus from the hotel to the ferry and when we reached the ferry, we had to load our bicycles up the cruise. when we reached changi ferry terminal, i realised that's not the end of our trip. haiz. we have to ride till we reach changi village to return our bicycles. another 3KM. *cries* but at least we rode mostly via the park and frankly, our roads are damn gd lah. very smooth lor!

i've been waking up to a perpetual rain cloud o'er my head for the past weeks. nearly a month. perhaps even longer than that. hope the storms gets by soon. can't stand it. to be welcomed by gloom is not the best thing out there and definitely not what i hoped for.
around 1/3 of my daily life is dedicated to work.
that leaves me 1/3 for sleeping.
1/12 wasted on transport with brains left aside to stone.
1/12 to personal grooming like bathing and eating and what nots.
i have less than 4 hrs each day to do what i need to do with my own free time.
which is grossly insufficient. = =
i have my DVDs, animes, comics, knitting, novels etc all stacked up aside screaming for me to pay attention to them but i can't. gotta shelve everything aside to concentrate on work and homework. crap. i'm a sucker with a obsessive need to find time for myself. if that territory is invaded, i become highly insecure. i become mentally unstable. i go bonkers. and u can pretty damn well see it all over my face if u pay attention.
i occasionally lapse into thinking that studying part-time while working is not such a gd idea after all. it's tough to keep up with it. but how else to get that piece of paper? (even if u're tempted to tell me what we get out of it is ultimately more fulfilling.) yes yes, i agree but let's face the facts. it's that piece of ppr and the grades written on it. if it's just abt passing, i guess i would've had an easier time. just submit my work and make sure i pass. but that's not what I want. what I do I must try to excel. Guess I'm the one putting myself to a slow death.
work-wise. well. what can i say. the usuals. ok maybe not so usual. there has been some changes. some i'm happy with, a particular one that's a pain in my ass and guess who stuck that thorn in it.

LITTLE INDIA!
decided to show my new TW producer & her couz around little india area for them to have a look and experience the feel of that place. except, we had no choice but to choose a day that's rather insane to even think about going to little india. yea. it's a sunday. HOHOHO...
oh well at least we chose to go there early at around 2pm so that we can walk around a few hours and leave before it getsugly i mean, crowded.
Atul decided to be our bodyguard knowing the treacherous grounds we pursue on our adventure hahahaha and so he's our tour guide and protector knight for the day.
which is gd la cos he's so tall hahaha
he brought us to an indian restaurant and i liked the food served there. we ordered ALOT and when it comes to paying, it's not that expensive afterall!
we ordered starters, naans (dried fruits and cheese), we had rice, we had spinach, curry fish head, mutton, chicken masala, whoa. good stuff.

Basically the restaurant we went is called BANANA LEAF and it's easy to walk to from little india mrt stn.
after our lunch we decided to walk around and ended up in Mustafa where my producer and her couz lost themselves amidst all the bangles galore. tons of them up for sale!
i decided that it's should be a rather fun experience for them to try out henna but the only problem was, i'm not sure where they're located. we tried our luck by walking around to look for available signboards but there wasn't any!?
we walked a looooooooong way, asking various shopkeepers where to find henna shops but it was a long and tedious search that almost seems impossible. the funny thing was i thought it would be easy.
we walked in the direction towards Tekka and towards bugis but before we even got that far, we finally found a shop. it's quite hidden in a corner.

it's probably my second time doing henna where the first experience was during campus care network (CCN) day in TP but the thing smudged before taking shape cos some ass bumped into me. = ="
but for a fullscale henna done, this day is probably the first.
at around 6+ i left the group to head towards Bugis Junction to meet up for sano's birthday with sano & iman. some stuff cropped up and sano couldn't stay so we had a quick dinner in MOF and i passed him the present i got for him in advance. a Honey and Clover illustration book.

after sano left, the remaining three of us headed towards Arab street to chill out. played a game of caram (hurting our fingers like mad) and poker card till Najib joined us later.
